Job Summary

The Medical Lab Tech will perform lab functions related to COVID-19 testing. They will utilize various machines, test methods, and skills to complete tasks required by Claremore Indian Hospital Laboratory department.

Primary Duties

The Medical Lab Tech will:

• Perform routine tests and laboratory procedures for diagnosis and treatment, including but not limited to:
• Urinalyses
• Clinical chemistry tests
• Blood counts
• Perform analytic tests
• Prepare chemical reagent stains and solutions for automated equipment
• Prepare specimens and tissue samples for study
• Make preliminary identification of bacterial cultures, subject to supervisor review
• Maintain laboratory stock of chemicals and glassware
• Collect specimens from patients
• Answer phones, record and relay messages, and refer urgent messages for immediate action
• Utilize computer programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
