Job summary

Prisma Health in Greenville Memorial Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine and specialized tests in the Flow Cytology department under supervision.

You will operate instruments, verify specimens, maintain accurate records, and support quality control and safety programs while delivering timely results to the clinical team. Requires an Associate degree or equivalent MLS program.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or equivalent MLT program meeting ASCP/AMT requirements.
• In lieu of education/experience: a Bachelor’s degree plus MLS certificate/diploma or completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine and specialized laboratory tests following established standards and practices.
• Operates instruments and QC procedures with precision and accuracy; reviews and reports results.
• Verifies patient/specimen IDs and properly labels and processes specimens.
• Documents proficiency and training progress; assists with training of new staff.
• Maintains clean work area, monitors supplies, and adheres to safety protocols.
• Reports critical results and ensures timely communication to clinicians.
