Job summary

Vitalant is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to provide skilled technical support in our high-complexity testing reference laboratories. You’ll work in a regulated, mission-driven environment with opportunities for learning and growth.

The role offers a structured schedule (Sun–Thu 6:00 am–2:30 pm) and competitive base wage, with weekend differential. Requirements include MLS/BB certification, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and licensure where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science.
• MLS/BB certification from an accredited agency or CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing.
• State licensure as required by regulations.
• Minimum two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or Blood Banking certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
• Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigations, quality control, preventive maintenance, and validations.
• Receive coaching and support from managers invested in your career.

Base Wage: Medical Lab Scientist I - II (Must Meet Requirements for Level as per Job Description)

Base Wage: 32.17 - 42.55 per hour.

Medical Lab Scientist II

• MLS/BB certification required.
• 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting required.

As a Med Lab Scientist, you'll get to
