Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and stat tests in a hospital setting at Patewood Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC. You will operate instruments, verify results, document procedures, and ensure specimen integrity while following established safety and QA protocols.

The role requires an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, with ASCP/AMT credentials or equivalent; a Bachelor's with related training may be considered in lieu of education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent Medical Laboratory Technology Program
• ASCP or AMT certifications may be considered
• Bachelor's with certificate/diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or military medical lab training may be considered in lieu of education/experience

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine and stat laboratory tests following established standards under limited supervision
• Operates instruments with quality control and evaluates results for validity
• Properly collects and processes specimens, verifies patient IDs, labels and records results
• Instructs new employees and students, documents proficiency and training progress
• Maintains clean work area, monitors supplies and inventory, and follows safety protocols
• Documents CE activities and completes competencies and evaluations
• Performs other duties as assigned
