Seattle Children’s in Seattle, WA seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist for Clinical and Molecular Microbiology. You will perform culture‑based organism identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, molecular diagnostics, and Sanger sequencing for complex bacteria, fungi and viruses.

The role also drives daily operations: specimen processing, result verification, quality control, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and strict CAP/CLIA compliance to support high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CLS or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility for certification by ASCP, NCA, AMT or state certification; must obtain within six months of hire.
• Diploma/transcript records must be on file per CAP/CMS requirements for certain tests.

Responsabilités

• Perform high-complexity clinical laboratory tests to provide rapid and accurate results.
• Independently conduct culture-based identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
• Execute molecular diagnostics and Sanger sequencing for complex organisms.
• Ensure specimen processing, result verification, quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain CAP and CLIA compliance to support high-quality patient care.
