Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital Mountain Point in Lehi, Utah, is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to analyze and report tests with accuracy, timely results, and adherence to CLIA and regulatory guidelines in patient care.

You will perform cytogenetic testing, report findings, maintain instruments, complete QC, and collaborate with clinicians to support diagnoses. A Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science is required; MLS (ASCP) preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Performs cytogenetic testing with a high level of competency according to established protocols.
• Generates and reports results which are used for making accurate diagnoses and prognoses, which influences patient care and management.
• Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of critical results.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises independent judgment to correlate and interpret data.
• Responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments and appropriate documentation of activities.
• Completes required QC and maintenance, consistently recognizing variances and documenting appropriate corrective action.
