Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking qualified Medical Technologists for full-time dayshift and nightshift positions, with PRN opportunities as well. A competitive sign-on bonus is offered.

The role involves independently performing laboratory procedures and tests across all ages with accuracy and timeliness. Qualifications include education as a certified medical technologist with ASCP/AMT/AAB eligibility, or equivalent, and state/regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: GED plus sufficient coursework and clinical training to satisfy testing/certification requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or life sciences preferred.
• No explicit work experience required; 1 year supervised clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs laboratory procedures for which trained and competency demonstrated.
• Performs laboratory testing on patients of all ages using professional knowledge, executing, interpreting and analyzing in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus a sufficient number of college and/or technical school courses and clinical training to satisfy the requirements for testing and certification as a medical technologist by an approved certifying agency Required
• Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) according to the qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations. Upon Hire Required or
• A person who recently moved into the state of Georgia or recently completed the academic and training/experience requirements may be temporarily classified as technologists or technicians for eighteen (18) months only to afford the person an opportunity to successfully complete an approved qualifying examination. within 1-1/2 Yrs Required
• AAB provisional certification not accepted
