Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a Medical Technologist to independently perform laboratory procedures and testing for patients of all ages. You will apply professional knowledge to execute, interpret, and analyze results accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements include a GED or higher with certification training; a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or a life science is preferred. Certification by ASCP/AMT/AAB or eligibility under GA rules is required or pending.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED plus college/technical training and clinical training to satisfy testing/certification.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or life sciences preferred.
• Certification as a medical technologist/MLS by a recognized certifying body per GA regulations; eligible or required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures independently as trained and competent.
• Conduct testing on patients of all ages accurately and timely.
• Interpret/analyze results following professional standards.

Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications

• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) according to the qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations. • A person who recently moved into the state of Georgia or recently completed the academic and training/experience requirements may be temporarily classified as technologists or technicians for eighteen (18) months only to afford the person an opportunity to successfully complete an approved qualifying examination. within 1-1/2 Yrs Required
