Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Full-time Language Services Interpreter to provide in-person, telephone, and video interpreting for patients and families. The role requires handling healthcare communications with cultural sensitivity and accuracy, using appropriate interpreter modalities and basic translation when needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred) and relevant interpretation experience; medical terminology knowledge and an interpreter

Qualifications

• Must speak English and a foreign language.
• Familiarity with healthcare terminology helpful.
• Ability to interpret in person, by phone, and via video.

Responsibilities

• Proactively responds to language access requests in a healthcare setting.
• Interprets for patient care, appointments, discharge instructions, procedures, etc.
• Utilizes technology to deliver services across modalities (in-person, telephone, video).
• Maintains relationships with internal customers and manages interpreter modalities to contain costs.
