Job summary

Harborview Medical Center, part of University of Washington, seeks a Medical Interpreter 1 for Cantonese and Mandarin. The role offers 40 hours weekly on a day shift to enable patient access and support language services across clinical encounters.

Qualifications

• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute minimum qualifications where allowed by law.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years interpretation experience in a clinic or hospital setting
• AND medical interpreter certification or qualification either from Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters, or the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
