Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, safe, and individualized patient care. The environment is supported by Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by evidence-based practice and the Wellstar Professional Practice Model.
All RN Clinical Nurses Critical Care must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the nursing practice standards as per the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. The role involves advocating for patients and supporting service excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice. Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care respecting cultural diversity and involving patients and families in care planning.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinate safe, quality care, promote respectful interdisciplinary communication, and support performance improvement initiatives and shared governance.
- Professional Development: Complete competency assessments, serve as a preceptor or mentor, and foster a healthy work environment.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promote research, participate in data collection, and adhere to organizational policies and standards, including safety goals.
- Resources and Support: Plan for patient care across the continuum, develop protocols, and support resource efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Licenses and Certifications: Active RN license (single or multi-state), BLS, and ACLS (Instructor or Provisional).
- Experience: Less than 1 year of clinical nursing experience required; prior direct patient care preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in English, basic computer skills, strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
