Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in insurance verification, referrals, co-payments, billing and customer service.
• Experience using medical billing software and ability to balance cash drawer.

Responsibilities

• Generate daily schedule and review verification notes to ascertain last verification date.
• Verifies patients insurance coverage and demographics; coordinates referrals when needed.
• Maintains insurance verification spreadsheet noting lapses in coverage or private-pay cases.
• Documents verification information in collection notes and notifies admissions manager of irregularities.
• Provides clerical support to billing, including filing, pulling, and copying EOBs.
