Cardiac Study Center (CSC) is hiring a Medical Insurance Billing Specialist for outpatient cardiology services. This 100% remote role is open to Washington state residents, with a Monday–Friday schedule and no weekends or holidays.

You will handle insurance follow-up, payer communications, and billing workflows to support accurate claim processing. Join a dedicated billing team within the Pulse Heart Institute network, focused on exceptional patient care and specialty cardiology billing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of healthcare experience.
• At least 1 year of medical billing and insurance claim processing.
• Familiarity with CMS1500, COB, PHI, and other medical billing terminology.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Comfortable using payer websites for eligibility and claim status.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Claims & Insurance Follow-Up: Call insurance companies to check claim status, reprocess claims, and file appeals.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all account activity and claim communications are HIPAA-compliant; document every account interaction with clarity and accuracy; post payments and ensure proper balance allocation across accounts.
• Billing & Communication Support: Adjust and resubmit claims to primary and secondary payers; participate in phone rotations to support incoming billing-related calls; coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve claim-related issues.

About the Role

As a Medical Insurance Billing Specialist, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of our outpatient cardiology services. Your work ensures timely and accurate insurance processing, supports patients through excellent billing communications, and strengthens clinic operations through compliant and detailed account management. This role offers a hands‑on opportunity to collaborate across departments while deepening your understanding of medical billing in a specialty setting.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Claims & Insurance Follow-Up

• Call insurance companies to check claim status, reprocess claims, and file appeals
• Analyze aging reports and address outstanding or denied claims
• Identify trends in insurance denials and escal as needed

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all account activity and claim communications are HIPAA-compliant
• Document every account interaction with clarity and accuracy
• Post payments and ensure proper balance allocation across accounts

Billing & Communication Support

• Adjust and resubmit claims to primary and secondary payers
• Participate in phone rotations to support incoming billing-related calls

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Required:
