Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, seeks a Medical Imaging Physicist to ensure safe, compliant use of imaging equipment across the department and affiliated sites. You will lead calibration, QA, and protocoled dosimetry while collaborating with radiologists, technologists, and informatics staff.

The role requires ABR or DPH RAD licensure, 1–3 years of Medical Physics experience, and strong knowledge of DICOM, PACS, RIS/HIS, and QA processes.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Medical Physics or related field required; Doctoral degree preferred.
  • License by ABR or DPH RAD required.
  • 1-3 years related Medical Physics experience.
  • fellowship or two years of medical physicist experience.
  • Strong computer skills with DICOM/PACS/RIS/HIS, IHE models, web/database servers, CAD, image processing and visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual and periodic inspection, calibration, and testing of medical imaging equipment per regulatory and accreditation specs.
  • Develop shielding designs for facilities, perform dosimetry calculations for research protocols, and conduct retrospective dosimetry analyses.
  • Participate in Radiology QA programs and optimize image quality while reducing radiation dose.
  • Support regulatory bodies during inspections and response development.
  • Support accreditation programs by The Joint Commission and ACR within Radiology.
