Job summary

Qualifications

• ABR certification in Diagnostic Medical Physics or CAMPEP residency qualification.
• 3+ years of clinical diagnostic imaging experience.
• Strong knowledge of state regulations, ACR and TJC criteria.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to go above and beyond for clients and colleagues.
• Demonstrated initiative, organization and ownership of daily tasks.
• Ability to solve problems by developing viable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine audits of compliance records for equipment registration and Radiation Protection Programs.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations of radiologic imaging systems (fluoroscopy, radiography, mammography, CT), MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine.
• Oversee and review technologist quality control programs.
• Attend hospital Radiation Safety Committee and Radiation Protocol Committee meetings.
• Consult staff regarding occupational and patient over-exposures.
• Advise on protocol management, dose assessment, and RSP Elements.
• Support training programs in radiation safety and magnet safety.
• Review occupational dosimetry reports and advise when ALARA limits are exceeded.
• Assess public exposure around x-ray rooms.
• Provide shielding design and verify adequacy of installed shielding.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
