Job summary

Select Medical in State College, PA, is seeking a part-time Patient Service Specialist to greet, register and guide patients from check-in to check-out. The role includes scheduling appointments, coordinating with insurers, and collecting co-pays in a busy outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED and ideally 1 year front desk and 1 year medical office experience. This on-site role offers 10-20 hours weekly with some evenings.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 Year of Medical Office Experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team.
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Type of Employment:Part-time

Schedule: Monday - Friday (10-20 hours /1-2 evenings per week)

Compensation:$14.00 - $16.00/hour (pending experience)

When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy center in State College, we want them to have an exceptional experience – starting at the front desk. That’s where you come in. As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and the business side of our center.
