Shape the future of healthcare administration in San Antonio! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a knowledgeable Medical Front Office Instructor to join our San Antonio campus team.
This part-time evening role (10 hours/week on Tuesdays and Thursdays) is the perfect opportunity to leverage your real-world administrative expertise without leaving your day job. You will teach engaging evening classes that prepare adult learners for successful careers in medical office management, health insurance billing, and patient records administration.
Instructional Delivery & Student Engagement:
Course Facilitation: Teach core healthcare administration topics during Tuesday/Thursday evening sessions, including Medical Office Management, Insurance Billing & Coding, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and Professional Documentation.
Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that accommodate varied adult learning styles and foster an inclusive classroom environment.
Practical Learning: Organize hands-on learning experiences, including mock office simulations, guest speaker sessions, and interactive lab exercises.
Academic Administration & Compliance:
Student Assessment: Evaluate student performance, grade coursework promptly, and deliver constructive academic feedback and tutoring.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, timely student documentation including daily attendance records, incident reports, and grade books.
Safety & Standards: Enforce campus safety guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and professional workplace ethics across all instruction.
Education & Experience (Pathways):
Pathway A: Graduation from an accredited Healthcare Administration (or related medical administrative) program PLUS three (3) or more years of professional experience in healthcare administration.
Pathway B: Four (4) or more years of job-related training and direct occupational experience in healthcare administration for non-graduates.
Required Credential: Active, current state/national license, certification, or credential required for the healthcare administration field (e. g., CMAA, CBCS, CEHRS, RMA, or equivalent).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and medical front-office software/EHR platforms.
Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Hiring Range: $20. 80 to $24. 96 per hour.
