The Health and Fitness Center at Washtenaw Community College, managed by Power Wellness, is hiring a Fitness Specialist. This full-time role provides professional fitness services with high customer service to members and guests.

Responsibilities include floor supervision, health history screening, scheduling assessments, delivering assessment results with exercise guidelines, first aid readiness, promoting ancillary services, and maintaining facilities.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field is required.
• CPR/AED certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
• Nationally recognized NCCA accredited certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with members.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide fitness floor supervision and basic exercise instruction for members, guests and program participants.
• Screen health history information and coordinate medical clearance processes as applicable.
• Schedule and perform all appointments for fitness assessments, orientations and follow-ups per protocol.
• Deliver and explain assessment results with exercise guidelines and program recommendations.
• Arrive as first responder to medical emergencies with AED and report incidents as required.
• Promote and sell ancillary services including personal training and wellness programs.
• Maintain knowledge of all events and activities within the center.
• Conduct facility rounds every 30-60 minutes, monitoring pools and fitness areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures on shifts, including weekends/holidays as scheduled.
• Maintain cleanliness and inspect equipment, reporting maintenance needs.
• May conduct strength and conditioning classes within certification scope.
• Willingness to lift up to 45 pounds and adapt to center hours.
