Job summary

Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Medical Ethics with competence in other areas of applied ethics and/or environmental philosophy. The appointment begins Fall 2027, with a load including Medical Ethics annually and other ethics courses.

This is a non-tenure-track, renewable position with potential for promotion, and collaboration with the Mallory‑Wilson Center for Healthcare Education.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Philosophy by time of appointment.
• Teaching experience and demonstration of teaching effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Teach Medical Ethics at least once per year, and possibly every semester.
• Teach introductory courses and other Applied Ethics courses as needed.
• Perform service to the department and university; collaborate with Mallory-Wilson Center for Healthcare Education.
