Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily records of medical equipment delivery and pick-up.
  • Expedites delivery of STAT requests and routine orders in a timely manner.
  • Maintains PAR levels by performing rounds on nursing units.
  • Assembles supply kits and processes data for DME tracking system.

Receives requisitions, documents the delivery of the requisition, and ensures the equipment goes to the appropriate party. Ensures all materials and equipment are received, completing all appropriate processing and inventory, stocking, documentation of equipment use, and delivery duties are completed in a timely manner.Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year related experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess oral and written communication skills. Basic math skills for converting quantities.Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Performs regular inventories of supplies and equipment stocked in the department, and ensures stock will meet patient needs. Cleans and sanitizes medical equipment using appropriate methods according to manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU). Places supplies in the system assigned stocking locations; places bulk supplies in designated storage areas and, applies charge code stickers to supplies when appropriate. Stocks supplies in appropriate procedure carts; checks the expiration dates of items on supply carts and in stock area to ensure the use of reliable materials to clinical staff; replaces supply if expired. Receives orders in EPIC for medical equipment and files requisitions appropriately in the department. Completes daily records of medical equipment delivery and pick-up. Expedites delivery of STAT requests and delivers other routine requests/orders in a timely manner. Maintain the date-check sign off sheet in each stock room. Acts as customer service representative to customer departments by answering and returning calls and pages to assist with equipment delivery and pick-up, and related question(s). Troubleshoots and makes minor repairs of broken equipment to comply with manufacturer standards. Performs rounds on nursing units multiple times each day to pick up soiled medical equipment and to maintain equipment PAR levels in each nursing or procedural area. Receives screens and disperses incoming calls for instrumentation systems and supply and distribution. Assembles various supply kits to include with equipment distribution, performs regular inventories of various medical equipment and completes required documentation and orders additional supplies as needed. Delivers/issues procedure trays, durable medical equipment, and med/surgical devices on scheduled and demand basis. Completes requisitions and inputs required patient and/or charging information and files/routes copies appropriately. Input, download, and process data and report required for DME tracking system. Determine need for medical equipment and rent equipment from vendors.Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.Working Relationships: Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
