Job summary

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Medical Education Coordinator to oversee non-clinical administrative functions of the outpatient clinic, including scheduling, billing and insurance verification. Bilingual Spanish preferred to support diverse patients.

The role supports operations across the health system with a focus on accuracy, organization, and excellent service, contributing to the delivery of high-quality behavioral health care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or higher; associate degree preferred.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required or equivalent.
  • Some experience in working with a mental health population is required.
  • Knowledge of MS4 a plus.
  • Insurance plan benefit coverages.
  • Customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is a 182-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Oakland Park neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, FL. FLBHC features individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health.

The Medical Education Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all non-clinical administrative functions of the outpatient clinic to include, but not limited to scheduling of patients/staff, billing, and insurance verification. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications
Education/Training:
  • High school diploma., Associates or higher degree preferred
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
Experience:
  • Some experience in working with mental health population is required.

Licensure/Certification
