Roseman University College of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Academic Advisor to provide individualized academic coaching, learning support, and exam preparation guidance to medical students during their clinical training. You will develop resources for NBME shelf exams and USMLE Step 1 & 2, mentor students, and analyze performance data to drive timely progression and success across clerkships and exams.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in medicine or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree in a foundational medical science discipline; relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience teaching, advising, mentoring, coaching, or supporting students in higher education, medical education, or healthcare environments.
• Experience providing academic support, learning assistance, or remediation services.
• Strong knowledge of learning strategies, academic success practices, and student development.
• Ability to assess academic performance and develop individualized support plans.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop resources to prep NBME shelf examinations and USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK.
• Instruct high-yield content and learning strategies to boost exam performance.
• Create workshops on test prep, learning, retention, and exam success.
• Provide individualized academic advising during clinical training.
• Help students develop study plans and test-taking approaches.
• Serve as content expert and mentor as students progress through medical school.
• Assess performance and tailor remediation plans.
• Monitor progress and celebrate growth.
• Analyze data to identify at-risk students.
• Implement targeted interventions to support progression.
• Collaborate with faculty and leaders to support development.
• Stay current on medical education best practices.
