Job summary

St. Clair Health Cancer Center affiliated with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center seeks a full-time Medical Dosimetrist to join a local team of physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation oncologists.

Expect collaborative planning using Varian TrueBeam/IX systems with an integrated ARIA/Eclipse workflow. The position involves CT simulation, treatment planning, QA, dose calculations, and participation in special procedures and clinical research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Dosimetry educational program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
• Board certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
• Board eligible candidates must become board certified within two attempts in the first two consecutive years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Generate clinically optimal treatment plans in collaboration with radiation oncologists, RT technologists and medical physicists.
• Participate in CT simulation and radiation treatment planning; quality management and communication during planning and treatment.
• Contour and delineate normal and planning structures on imaging using multiple modalities.
• Perform rigid and deformable image registration for multi-modality image sets.
• Apply radiotherapy planning techniques including 2D/3D conformal, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS and brachytherapy planning.
• Apply radiobiology knowledge for dose tolerances, fractionation calculations and BED/EQD2.
• Conduct dose calculations (manual and computer-based) for treatment delivery.
• Assist with HDR and LDR brachytherapy procedures and specialized treatments.
• Contribute to QA procedures and chart checks; support data transfer to clinical systems.
