Job Description:

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a Medical Dosimetrist to join the Radiation Oncology team at Elmhurst Hospital. The ideal candidate will be a certified and experienced professional responsible for developing accurate radiation treatment plans and ensuring precise dose delivery in both External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT) and Brachytherapy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, generate, and verify radiation dose distributions and calculations
• Prepare computerized treatment plans for EBRT and Brachytherapy
• Provide technical oversight and support for daily operations and quality assurance
• Communicate treatment plans and setup instructions clearly to Radiation Therapists
• Verify treatment accuracy through chart checks and documentation review
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety and protection standards
• Collaborate with oncologists, physicists, and other care team members
• Participate in patient care planning and interdisciplinary conferences
• Maintain competence by attending CE programs and adhering to protocols
• Support equipment operations and troubleshooting within dosimetry scope
• Manage workload distribution for the dosimetry team

Required Skills:

• Proficient in MOSAIQ and Pinnacle systems
• Strong understanding of physics, radiobiology, anatomy, and math
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare setting
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Dosimetrist

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)

• No on-call required
• This is a temporary agency assignment to fill an FTE vacancy
