Job description

A health services network in New York City is looking to add a Dosimetrist to its Radiology team at their Queens-based facility.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 9am to 5pm
• Setting: Acute Care

Responsibilities:

• Design, generate, and measure radiation dose distributions and dose calculations while providing oversight to high level treatment procedures in both external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy
• Communicate the patient’s treatment plan to the Radiation Therapists by providing field arrangements, beam modification devices, and any concerns that may arise during treatment planning phase
• Perform calculations for accurate delivery of the Radiation Oncologist's prescribed dose, documents pertinent information in the patient record, and verifies the mathematical accuracy of all calculation
• Prepare computerized plans for radiation therapy patients (EBRT and Brachytherapy)
• Check patient’s charts to assure the prescribed delivery of radiation
• Maintain clinical competence by attending continuing education programs
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• MOSAIQ Pinnacle Minimum of 1 year of experience
• 1+ yr EPIC Beacon and/or Aria OIS experience
• Bachelor’s Degree certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
• Strong technical skills in math and physics to accurately design radiation plans
• Overall knowledge of Mathematics, Physics, Anatomy, Physiology, and Radiobiology
