Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. in Atlanta is seeking a Certified Medical Dosimetrist to join the Treatment Planning Team.

You will work with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists to develop and QA radiation plans, ensuring safety and accuracy in patient care.

Qualifications

  • Must be Certified Medical Dosimetrist or Board Eligible Medical Dosimetrist (MDCB).
  • Must be certified within 2 years and demonstrate strong teamwork.
  • Must understand technical aspects of radiation oncology to derive and communicate plans.
  • Execute treatment plans independently; consult with Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist; knowledge of NRC rules.
  • Must interpret and execute treatment plans per protocols.
  • CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Medical Physicist and participate in the Treatment Planning Team.
  • Perform all dosimetry for radiation oncology patients under supervision by Radiation Oncologists.
  • Provide technical supervision, coordination, and QA of the dosimetry division.
  • Ensure safety and adherence to NRC regulations and clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

Works directly with the Medical Physicist as a member of the Treatment Planning Team. Responsible for all dosimetry performed on all radiation oncology patients under the supervision and medical authority of the Radiation Oncologists. Responsible for the technical supervision, coordination and quality assurance of the dosimetry division of the radiation oncology department.

Qualifications
REQUIRED:
  • 1. Certified Medical Dosimetrist or Board Eligible Medical Dosimetrist.
  • 2. Must be Certified within 2 years. Demonstrates advanced teamwork skills.
  • 3. Must be able to understand the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to derive computerized treatment plans, and communicate these aspects to the Radiation Oncologist for plan approval, and to the Radiation Therapist for plan implementation.
  • 4. Perform routine duties independent of supervision, but consults with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required. Has working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
  • 5. Has the ability to interpret and execute treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols.
  • 6. Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
PREFERRED:
  • 1.Certified Medical Dosimetrist with minimum of 3 years’ experience in Radiation Oncology including IMRT treatment planning CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Certified Medical Dosimetrist certification through the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
