Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center seeks a Medical Director for the Center for Simulation and Research. The leader will guide education and training, recruit and develop CSR staff, and work with the CSR Operations, Research, and Fellowship Directors.

The role focuses on sustaining accreditation, advancing simulation-based education, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders across departments.

Qualifications

• Faculty-level physician, with MD, DO, or equivalent.
• Clinical and other commitments permit spending at least 2.5 full days per week, on average, focused on CSR work.
• At minimum five years of formal experience in medical simulation.
• Primary academic focus is simulation; education and/or research is acceptable.
• Instructor status in PALS, ACLS, NRP and/or ATLS (as applicable to clinical duties).
• Knowledge of patient simulation services, applications, and instructional technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with scientific writing, including IRB protocols and abstracts.
• Experience in study design, coordination, enrollment, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CSR leadership to develop innovative simulation courses and research.
• Oversee CSR operations and attend meetings of key sub-groups.
• Determine validity and feasibility of outcome measures and derive validation tools.
• Assist budgeting for CSR staff, space, equipment, and supplies.
• Represent CSR at institutional levels and advocate for simulation needs.
