Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Medical Director to lead the Center for Simulation and Research. The role oversees the design, delivery, and assessment of simulation-based education, while recruiting and mentoring CSR staff.

The director will collaborate with key leaders to advance simulation initiatives and maintain accreditation. The ideal candidate is an accomplished physician with a strong track record in medical simulation, education leadership, and research,

Qualifications

• / Must be a faculty-level physician with MD/DO or equivalent.
• / At least 2.5 full days per week dedicated to CSR work.
• / Minimum five years of formal experience in medical simulation.
• / Primary academic focus on simulation; education/research acceptable.
• / Instructor status in PALS, ACLS, NRP and/or ATLS where applicable.
• / Knowledge of patient simulation services, applications, and instructional technologies.
• / Demonstrated experience with scientific writing, IRB protocols, abstracts, and manuscripts.
• / Grant writing skills and prior funding documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations, Research, and Education leadership to develop innovative simulation-based courses and programs.
• Collaborate on day-to-day CSR operations and participate in sub-group meetings.
• Determine validity and feasibility of outcome measures in simulation labs and real settings.
• Help derive and validate new measurement instruments/tools for simulation education.
• Contribute to CSR budgets including staffing, space, equipment, and supplies.
• Represent CSR at the institutional level and advocate for simulation needs.
• Maintain accreditation status with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and manage re-accreditation cycles.
• Co-lead monthly staff meetings and annual strategy sessions.
