Job summary

Hopscotch Primary Care is seeking a Medical Director to lead the clinical team at our Spruce Pine clinic, overseeing a patient panel and setting the standard for our care model. The role blends hands-on leadership with clinician mentorship to uphold high-quality, coordinated care.

You will partner with the Center Manager to optimize patient experience, outcomes, and cost of care, while advancing value-based care initiatives and clinical innovation in a supportive rural setting.

Qualifications

• Board-certified physician with leadership experience in a primary care setting.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and clinical programs.
• Strong focus on quality, safety, and value-based care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical care team (APs, Medical Assistants, Care Managers) in a patient-centered, value-based model.
• Manage your own patient panel with emphasis on outcomes and continuity of care.
• Mentor providers on documentation, care coordination, and efficient use of indirect care time.
• Partner with Care Center Manager to drive patient experience, STARS/HEDIS, and cost of care metrics.
• Champion talent, culture, clinical innovation, and compliance across the center.
• Represent Hopscotch in the community through education and outreach.
