Experience & Requirements
Graduate of an accredited medical school.
- Fully licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
- Board certified in primary care specialty (Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Public Health, or Occupational Medicine) with administrative experience in corrections and/or managed healthcare delivery.
- Current DEA registration. Board certified, eligible, or qualified by the state law/regulations to practice medicine.
- Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, and good customer service skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, work in a stressful environment, and take appropriate actions as needed.
- Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
A background check, security clearance, and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities
Serves as the responsible physician and health authority required by national standards. Provides overall supervision for clinical services to ensure appropriate delivery of medical care on-site and off-site. While in charge of a site, this position does not manage regular physicians.
As a Site Medical Director at YesCare in Philadelphia, PA, your responsibilities include:
Administrative
- Chair of the Medical Audit Committee.
- Consult with community medical providers to resolve service delivery issues.
- Supervise clinical staff and ensure on-call services.
- Review and approve clinical protocols, policies, procedures, and disaster plans annually.
- Support quality improvement programs, including patient complaints, infection control, peer review, and chart audits.
- Manage referrals to outside healthcare facilities for appropriateness and continuity of care.
- Serve as a professional resource and leader for clinical staff.
- Assist in screening, interviewing, evaluating credentials, and hiring healthcare providers.
- Participate in training, represent the program in community discussions, and attend meetings.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient encounters, including timely signing and legible records.
- Provide emergency treatment and respond to urgent situations.
- Maintain competence in CPR and AED use.
- Participate in onboarding new staff and in quality improvement activities.
Clinical
- Provide community-standard care including sick call, chronic care, history and physicals, and emergency care.
- Provide on-call coverage as needed.
- Adhere to formulary protocols; document non-formulary medication requests for approval.
- Utilize in-house resources before off-site referrals; respond to emergencies appropriately.
- Support standards of care, attend staff meetings, and provide education.
- Coordinate coverage and monitor patient care when providers are unavailable.
- Participate in quality reviews, utilization review, and follow standard precautions.
Accountability
- Must be approved by the Credentialing Committee.
- Ensure timely documentation, review test results within 72 hours, and develop care transition plans.
