Job Description

A Boston-based client is seeking an excellent Psychiatrist to serve as the Medical Director of Recovery Services. The ideal candidate has experience with both pediatrics and adult care, as the clinic has a wide scope of practice. This clinic provides acute behavioral health and psychiatric care.

Required Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree
• Current MA state medical license
• Completed an accredited residency program
• Current DEA certificate
• 3-5 years of experience as a psychiatrist, with at least 2 years in medical leadership
• Board certified in psychiatry
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Oversees the clinical operations of the department and addresses daily clinical issues
• Mentors and coaches providers, ensuring adherence to clinical care and documentation standards
• Collaborates with local CBHC for patient care workflows and transfers
• Maintains a clinical schedule within the department
• Develops and updates departmental clinical policies and procedures
• Oversees Clinical Quality Management
• Participates in annual performance improvement projects
• Collaborates with IT for data reporting and validation
• Assists with grant writing and reporting related to clinical activities
• Works with coding and billing departments to ensure proper coding and fund allocation
• Fosters a culture of service excellence, reviews patient surveys, and resolves complaints
• Participates in hiring, orientation, and onboarding of new providers
• Meets with the provider team weekly and communicates updates effectively
• Utilizes the clinical leadership team for support
• Provides psychiatric consultations to NPs and BH providers
• Assists in preparing the annual budget
• Performs annual reviews, OPPEs, FPPEs, and peer reviews
