Job summary

Elderhaus, a nationally recognized Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), is seeking a physician leader to serve as Medical Director in Wilmington, NC. This role combines clinical oversight with strategic leadership to improve outcomes and quality of care for frail older adults.

The Medical Director provides leadership for medical services, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains a direct clinical role within the primary care

Qualifications

• MD or DO with NC medical licensure (current or eligible)
• Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Current DEA registration
• BLS/CPR certification
• Minimum two years caring for older adults or frail elders
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Provide overall medical direction and oversight for Elderhaus PACE.
• Lead efforts to improve clinical outcomes and participant experience.
• Serve as a clinical resource for physicians and interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure evidence-based, participant-centered care across settings.
• Lead medical components of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement program.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (PACE, CMS, state).
• Recruit and mentor physicians and APPs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for individualized care plans.
