Job summary

Hlx Life Sciences is seeking a Medical Director, Clinical Development to lead medical strategy and execution for rare disease programs. You will guide Phase II/III trial design, safety oversight, and data interpretation in collaboration with Clinical Operations and Regulatory teams.

The role offers high visibility within a growing biotech, enabling direct impact on development strategy while maintaining hands-on study execution and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical or clinical drug development.
• Experience leading Phase II and/or Phase III studies.
• Experience in rare diseases or specialist indications preferred.
• Strong understanding of trial design, execution and interpretation.
• Experience working in cross-functional drug development teams.
• Ability to engage with investigators, KOLs and internal leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership across rare disease development programs.
• Support design and execution of Phase II/III trials, including protocol development and strategy.
• Provide ongoing medical oversight of trials, including safety and efficacy data interpretation.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics and data management.
• Partner with investigators and external experts to support study execution.
• Contribute to development plans, regulatory interactions and milestones.
• Support preparation and review of clinical and regulatory documents.
• Interpret emerging data and translate findings into development plans.
