Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a Medical Director to lead medical oversight for Therapeutic Apheresis and Cellular Therapies, driving program development and regulatory compliance. You will serve as a key medical liaison for internal teams and biotech partners, overseeing donor eligibility and product specs.

The role also includes regional medical leadership, collaborating with hospital clients on transfusion medicine, donor management, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• 5+ years' experience in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.
• Familiarity with FACT accreditation and AABB standards; FDA HCT/P regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Collaborate with leadership to expand collection footprints and optimize production of cellular products.
• Provide medical oversight for donor eligibility, product specifications, and clinical trial alignment.
