Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Medical Director, Breast Diagnostics to shape US diagnostic strategies across its breast cancer portfolio, including companion diagnostics and testing solutions. You will work within US Medical Affairs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure diagnostic excellence throughout the patient journey.

Qualifications

• Advanced medical or scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MBBS).
• 3+ years of healthcare delivery experience in the US, preferably oncology diagnostics or clinical labs.
• Experience with oncology drug launch or diagnostic test adoption planning and evidence generation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute US diagnostic strategies for breast oncology portfolio, including companion diagnostics.
• Ensure companion diagnostic and testing readiness to support product launches.
• Support diagnostic registration and approval activities where required.
• Build strategic partnerships with pathology organizations, diagnostic companies, laboratory networks, healthcare providers, advocacy groups and key opinion leaders.
• Utilize medical evidence, real-world evidence, and epidemiology to support education and diagnostic adoption strategies.
