AbbVie seeks a Medical Director/Scientific Director for Medical Affairs, Precision Medicine, to lead U.S. CDx strategy in oncology. The role requires a strong background in diagnostics, pathology, biomarkers, and cancer therapeutics, with a commitment to precision medicine.

The position is based at the Mettawa, IL headquarters with a hybrid schedule of three days in the office weekly, reporting to the Medical Affairs leadership. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with companion or complementary diagnostics, ideally in oncology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a comprehensive U.S.-focused medical strategy for CDx-dependent indications.
• Develop and implement the Medical Affairs strategy for upcoming CDx launches.
• Build and maintain relationships with diagnostic partners, academic and community labs, and reference labs.
• Cultivate relationships with expert pathologists and key opinion leaders.
• Represent Medical Affairs in cross-functional Oncology Precision Medicine teams.
