Job summary

VCA Dakota Ridge Animal Hospital is seeking a Medical Director to lead medical quality with the support of a world‑class operations and care team. You’ll practice medicine while guiding hospital direction and medical standards, backed by a network of experts in operations, marketing, and human resources.

This role offers a full‑time schedule, a strong benefits package, and opportunities to teach, participate in clinical studies, and contribute to a culture of collaborative care.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from an accredited university.
• Colorado licensure in good standing to practice (or ability to obtain).
• Commitment to upholding the veterinary code of ethics and highest medical standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead medical quality and clinical direction for the hospital.
• Practice medicine while shaping hospital direction and standards of care.
• Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, HR, Payroll and other teams to support success.

Schedule

• Full-Time schedule
• Our hospital is open Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 7:00pm & Saturday from 8:00am - 4:00pm
• This position will include (4) 10-hour shifts with Saturday rotation

Cases

• Our practice focuses on providing comprehensive care for cats and dogs
• Mixture of wellness, sick, and emergency patients.

Total Rewards

Compensation

• Compensation negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and other relevant credentials.
• Annual salary starting at $145,000 - $160,000 plus stipends, production, and bonus potential.
• This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
• Licensure in good standing to practice in Colorado, or the ability to obtain
• A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
