Reliable Respiratory is hiring a Medical Device Technician to provide home-based respiratory support. You will deliver, set up, and maintain CPAP/BIPAP and related equipment for patients in Massachusetts.

The role includes telehealth guidance, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safe, effective use of devices. Strong communication and computer skills are essential, with preference for bilingual English/Spanish speakers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service or healthcare support is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Familiarity with respiratory equipment is preferred.
  • Proficient with PC/iPad and documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to patients in Massachusetts for sleep equipment such as CPAP/BIPAP.
  • Assist with setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of devices for home use.
  • Coordinate with care teams and schedule patient visits with the Customer Success team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA and company policy.
  • Document interactions and outcomes accurately in required systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and ongoing trainings.

The Medical Device Technician is responsible for providing support for Respiratory Therapist services including delivering, setting up, and maintaining specialized respiratory products and other equipment for patients in their home.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to Massachusetts patients with CPAP, BIPAP, and other sleep equipment for sleep apnea related diagnoses. Equipment includes:
  • Luna G3 APAP and ResMed APAP
  • Luna 3B BPAP and ResMed BPAP
  • Mask fitting
  • Oxygen concentrators and regulatorss
  • Provide telehealth instruction to Massachusetts patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of certain equipment and/or respiratory care procedures—escalating to a Respiratory Therapist as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison between the patient and other members of the health care team as required.
  • Participate in mandatory in-services and other trainings as scheduled.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training sessions regarding respiratory patient care.
  • Keep all financial and patient information confidential, in accordance with company mandate and HIPAA security standards.
  • Coordinate with the Customer Success team on scheduling patient visits and equipment set-up.
  • Develop good working relationships with the patients and their families.
  • Follow proper company policies and procedures and ensure timely documentation.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future.
  • Valid US driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents within the last 3 years.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Experience with respiratory equipment preferred.
  • Efficient skills utilizing a PC/iPad/software for email, documentation, notes etc.

The MDT must regularly exert up to 50 pounds of force, and/or a significant amount of force to move, position, transport, install objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a MDT encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this, the employee is frequently exposed to cleaning product fumes and dust and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. This job entails possible occasional exposure to body fluids which can contain blood-borne pathogens. This position may entail possible exposure to hazardous material including liquid or gaseous oxygen.
