Job summary

ITW Medical in the United States seeks a Sustaining Engineer to support product lifecycle management, improve product and process performance, and drive change control across the Medical Division.” The role is onsite at our Washington, North Carolina facility. The engineer will partner with Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Supply Chain to deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities include sustaining projects, cost reductions, testing, root-cause analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, or sustaining engineering.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience supporting product or process changes in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Execute sustaining engineering projects, including product enhancements, cost reduction, and supplier-driven changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, and customer experience.
• Conduct engineering testing, analysis, and technical evaluations.
• Investigate and resolve product, process, manufacturing, and quality issues.
• Provide engineering support for materials, specifications, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Apply root cause analysis, statistical methods, and structured problem-solving tools.
• Support engineering change control activities, including documentation, verification, validation, and implementation.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Supply Chain on CAPAs, investigations, and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and design records.
• Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to implement practical engineering solutions.
• Support initiatives that improve quality, productivity, and cost performance.
• Capture and share technical knowledge through standards, documentation, and best practices.
