Job summary

ATR International is seeking a Software Test Engineer II for our client’s Affera Mapping and Ablation System team. The role emphasizes manual test writing and execution, defect analysis, and collaboration with software engineers and QA to verify software requirements for a medical device system.

You will maintain test cases across multiple configurations, work with various test management tools, and contribute to test coverage improvements while aligning with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field with at least 2 years of experience; or a master’s degree with no minimum experience.
• Experience in medical device software verification, including IEC 62304 and FDA guidance.
• Ability to create test protocols that verify software requirements.
• Hands-on manual software testing and documenting test results and defects.
• Experience using a test case management tool or repository (Matrix, Polarion, TFS, TestRail, JAMA).
• Ability to manage multiple hardware and software configurations.
• Strong documentation practices and collaboration with QA.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and execute manual test protocols and procedures to verify software requirements.
• Perform functional, performance, workflow, and system-level testing.
• Analyze test results, investigate defects, and document findings clearly.
• Collaborate with engineers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
• Maintain test cases and execution records using described tools.
• Manage multiple hardware/software configurations used during testing.
• Work with QA to ensure verification activities and documentation meet regulatory requirements.
• Suggest improvements to test coverage and product quality.
• Review test automation tools and contribute to automation where applicable.
