Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Software Test Engineer II to join the Mapping and Ablation System team. The role focuses on validating software for a medical device, writing test protocols, and executing manual tests to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.

You will work with real-time visualization software on electrophysiology products, collaborating with engineering teams to improve product quality and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of software verification experience.
• Knowledge of IEC-62304 and FDA guidance.
• Experience with test-case management tools (Polarion, TFS, TestRail, JAMA, Matrix, etc).
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR Master’s with minimum 0 years relevant experience.

About the Mapping and Ablation System:
The Mapping and Ablation System is an innovative medical technology designed to treat patients with cardiac arrhythmias. The system involves advanced mapping techniques to create detailed images of the heart’s electrical activity, helping physicians identify abnormal areas causing arrhythmias. Once identified, the Ablation System delivers targeted energy to disrupt these abnormal signals, restoring normal heart rhythm.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Test the functionality and performance of the systems software
• Develop and execute manual test plans and scripts designed to detect problems
• Maintain broad understanding of current testing software technologies.
• Ensure systems software meets technical and functional requirements
• Perform workflow analysis, document test results and recommend quality improvements
• Work with engineers to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models.
• Reviews test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Medical Product verification, IEC-62304 and FDA guidance in a technical discipline, preferably software related (Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field) with a minimum of 2 years of software verification experience.
• Strong understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.
• Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs.
• Strong understanding of good documentation practices
• Experience using a tool or repository for managing test cases (Polarion, TFS, TestRail, JAMA, Matrix, etc).
• Ability to manage, track and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations.
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++/C# or similar languages
• Experience debugging hardware with tools such as oscilloscope and function generators
• Experience writing, executing, and maintaining test automation scripts in Python or a comparable language. Experience should include automating functional, regression, and system-level test cases; working with test frameworks and reusable test libraries; analyzing logs and test results; debugging failures; and integrating automated tests into the broader verification workflow.
• Experience writing technical reports
• Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive
• Experience with software version control systems, such as BitBucket/Git
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
