Job summary

Smith Nephew in Mansfield, MA is hiring an Operator 2 to manufacture medical device components using CNC and manual equipment. You will setup, operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and participate in process improvements while ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will collaborate with engineers and toolmakers, train newer operators, maintain documentation, and support a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and set up machines.
• Produce medical device components with CNC and manual equipment.
• Maintain quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform moderate machine setups and operate CNC and manual metal fabrication equipment including turning, milling, grinding, drilling, tapping, and EDM.
• Manufacture medical device components from raw materials while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously and utilize inspection equipment to verify product quality.
• Troubleshoot production and development issues and support process improvements.
• Partner with engineers and toolmakers on fixture design, tooling, process development, and part design activities.
• Train and support less experienced operators while helping maintain an effective team environment.
• Complete required documentation and comply with company policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Support workplace safety, preventive maintenance activities, and housekeeping standards.
