Job summary

Medline Industries, LP, Namic site in Glens Falls, NY, is seeking an engineering co-op to work with senior engineers on projects spanning product development, process improvement, and validations. You will collaborate with Quality, Planning and Sourcing teams and gain hands-on medical device industry experience in a large healthcare organization.

The role offers project ownership, opportunities to influence manufacturing, time studies, drawings updates, and interaction with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Background in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• Junior standing with a 3.0 minimum GPA preferred.
• Strong leadership abilities and demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Excellent organization, communication, data analysis and follow up skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with SolidWorks (or other CAD) preferred.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement principles preferred.
• Knowledge of database applications (Access, FoxPro) is a plus.
• Unrestricted permanent US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities to qualify devices for the Glens Falls facility.
• Verify assembly labor standards.
• Develop and validate processes.
• Analyze and address bottlenecks in production.
• Run time studies for new assemblies or cost analyses.
• Lab testing for process validations or feasibility studies.
• Submit engineering change notices to update docs.
• Update drawings for design changes.
• Communicate costs, drawings, and BOMs with suppliers.
