Job summary

Viant Medical Inc. Wheeling facility is seeking a Swiss Machinist to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC Swiss lathes to manufacture precision components for medical devices.

You will follow engineering drawings and GMP/ISO 13485 standards to ensure parts meet specifications, while supporting continuous improvement. This role operates on the 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:00pm) with market-competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss lathes in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience with medical device, aerospace, or highly regulated manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong reading of engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-style lathes to manufacture complex, high-precision components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and machine accessories for production.
• Adjust offsets and edits to maintain dimensional accuracy and optimize performance.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision instruments.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Monitor machine performance to meet quality and throughput goals.
• Maintain GMP/ISO 13485 compliance and quality procedures.
