Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical collections and medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of medical insurance processes, billing codes (ICD-10, CPT), and payer requirements.
• Familiarity with practice management and billing software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial and health information confidentially.

Responsibilities

• Perform follow-to-final collection activities on delinquent patient accounts.
• Review and reconcile patient accounts to ensure accurate billing and balances.
• Contact patients, guarantors, and insurance carriers to obtain payment.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to maximize reimbursements.
• Review EOBs, post payments, and adjust accounts appropriately.
• Investigate and appeal denied or underpaid claims with insurers.
• Document all collection activities accurately in the billing system.
• Collaborate with medical billing and front-office teams to resolve errors.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients with patience and professionalism.
