Job summary

The Baton Rouge Clinic, AMC is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Collector to join our team. This role focuses on managing medical billing claims and ensuring accurate insurance collections to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Six months of billing office experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
• Familiarity with EPIC systems is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients and guarantors about outstanding balances by phone or mail.
• Coordinate with attorneys and third‑party collection agencies to monitor status and resolve issues.
• Secure payment arrangements while remaining courteous and professional.
• Investigate account discrepancies and identify solutions.
• Document collection activities and updates per policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with billing, service, and admin teams to improve account management.
• Uphold HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality.
