Job summary

Vista Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to manage charge capture, eligibility verification, and pre-authorization tasks. The role includes counseling patients on insurance and payment issues before surgery and registering patients with accurate data in the billing system.

Responsibilities also cover collecting co-pays, posting adjustments, balancing receipts, and ensuring timely audit trails.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2 years of medical collections experience required.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and electronic billing necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Charge capture and payment posting; verify eligibility and pre-authorizations.
• Counsel patients and families on insurance and payment issues prior to surgery.
• Enter accurate insurance and demographic data; register patients.
• Collect co-pays and other out-of-pocket amounts at service time.
• Post approved adjustments and balance receipts; prepare audit trail.
• Reconcile daily work batches and maintain accurate billing records.
