Job summary

The Advanced Center for Surgery in Vero Beach, FL is seeking a Collections and Billing Specialist to work on site. You will support accurate charge entry and claims processing, pulling preoperative notes and extracting data from medical records to ensure complete billing records.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of ASC billing experience and familiarity with Advantx, Vision, HST, or Waystar. This role offers comprehensive health benefits and on-site work support.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of ASC revenue cycle, orthopedic charge entry, or collections experience.
• Experience with billing software and payer workflows.
• Must be available to work on site.

Responsibilities

• Pull preoperative notes from transcription company.
• Extract information from medical records, operative notes, invoices, progress notes and discharge papers to ensure complete charge entry.
• Capture implants, high-cost supplies, high-cost drugs, post-op pain blocks and observations times before charge submission.
• Review invoice details for pricing, discounts, state sales tax, etc.
• Execute recurring billing workflow and transmit claims daily.
• Follow up on billing inquiries and resolve issues with internal/external parties.
• Reconcile revenue and billing during period-end close.
• Complete accurate charge entry for all cases and upload to the designated electronic claims clearinghouse daily.
• Resolve claim rejections daily to ensure clean claims are transmitted and received by payers.
• Maintain knowledge of healthcare billing laws, rules and regulations.

The Advanced Center for Surgery in Vero Beach is a busy, multispecialty ambulatory surgery center in Vero Beach, performing outpatient procedures in General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Management, Plastic/Reconstruction, Podiatry, Robotic Total Joints, and Spine.

Collections and Billing Specialist at The Advanced Center for Surgery

Responsibilities:

• Pull any preoperative notes from the designated transcription company.
• Extract information from medical records, operative notes, invoices, progress notes and discharge paperwork to ensure completeness and accuracy of charge entry.
• Capture implants, high-cost supplies, high-cost drugs, post op pain blocks and observations times prior to charge submission
• Review accuracy of invoice details, including customer billing instructions, pricing, discounts, state sales tax, etc.
• Execute the recurring billing workflow and generate and transmit claims daily.
• Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of internal and external inquiries of billing issues (i.e., operative notes, POPM form, invoices, or implant pricing etc).
• Reconcile revenue and billing during the period-end close process.
• Complete accurate charge entry for all assigned cases and upload to designated electronic claims clearinghouse daily.
• Resolve claim rejections daily to ensure clean claims are transmitted and received by the appropriate payer.
• Maintain current knowledge of health care billing laws, rules and regulations and developments

Required Skills:
