Job summary

Millennium Physician Group seeks a detail-oriented Medical Coding Specialist to support risk adjustment coding and documentation initiatives. You will analyze coding trends, perform retrospective chart reviews and audits, assign ICD‑10‑CM diagnosis codes, and collaborate with providers and operations to improve coding accuracy and risk capture.

The ideal candidate is analytical, self-directed, with CPC certification and experience in healthcare/Medicare risk adjustment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent.
• 1+ year clinical and/or Medicare Risk Adjustment experience.
• Healthcare and insurance industry experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate ICD‑10‑CM and CPT coding with zero errors.
• Validate diagnosis and treatment documentation, query providers for clarification.
• Stay current on coding guideline updates and communicate changes to leadership.
• Use auditing tools to monitor accuracy, identify trends, and drive corrective action.
• Meet productivity benchmarks and maintain active professional coding certification.
