Job summary

Midwestern University is seeking a Certified Coding Specialist for the AZ Clinic Finance team in Glendale. You will protect revenue by coding and billing for MWU clinics, educate providers, monitor accounts receivable, and pursue delinquent accounts.

Reports to Assistant Manager of Patient Accounts. Required are 3–5 years of medical coding in a clinic setting and CPC certification; strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and reporting in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of coding experience in a medical office setting.
• Current CPC credential required; ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS knowledge essential.

Responsibilities

• Review coding for Multispecialty Clinics and Eye Institute for compliance and coding rules.
• Review EHR to determine information needed for coding purposes.
• Educate providers on documentation, coding, and billing issues; participate in charge capture and reconciliation.
